RESEARCH IMPACT AND PROMOTION

In order for this planet to have financial stability, peace, and protect natural resources, there’s one thing we can’t do without, and that’s an international collaboration, based on a shared and fact-based understanding of the world. The current lack of knowledge about the world is, therefore, the most concerning problem of all.

Why? The idea behind it

In the era of fake news, spreading reliable information and popularizing science is a great responsibility and challenge. The editorial team of Political Studies Review is committed to presenting and visualizing research data to boost dissemination. We want to introduce research findings and articles published in the PSR to a wider audience.

The language of scientific publications can be complex and sometimes even hermetic, thus a real challenge is to speak about science in a way that is more accessible and attractive. We also believe that research findings can be translated into various forms of communication (including visual and audio content) to highlight the crucial elements of each research publication.

There are several ways of defining impact. We’ve decided to highlight four major elements of the most popular approaches:

  • as “the demonstrable contribution that excellent research makes to society and the economy”
  • as “an effect on, change or benefit to the economy, society, culture, public policy or services, health, the environment or quality of life, beyond academia
  • as the influences of research results on the knowledge and actions of researchers and policymakers
  • as measurable influences in the form of quantifiable data such as citation frequency
